Our Story

Over the past 20+ years, we have led large portfolios, programs and projects, established and matured PMOs and supported hundreds of project professionals. Leading a PMO is not like managing a project. Yes, project management skills are welcome, and they certainly help, but a PMO leader is a strategist who sets the vision and shows how the PMO can help their companies to increase their revenue, help more clients, become more efficient, and celebrate more achievements. However, a PMO leader can also be seen as a compliance freak, a bureaucrat, or a blocker for the company’s growth. Which side do you want to be in? How do you want to be perceived?

We have seen it all: projects that come out of the blue and need to be executed immediately, trying to manage projects without resources, petty projects taking precedence over strategic ones because of office politics, project management attrition because of a lack of clear direction, compensation issues, stakeholder issues, amongst others. We have experienced many of the problems above (and a lot more) in different organizations. The lack of a support system and a hand to help can make the lives of PMO leaders unbearable some days. (Project Managers struggle quite a lot as well; the grass is not always greener on the other side, by the way!).

That’s why we founded JBF Consulting Group. We are a specialized consulting firm for PMO leaders. Our founder and president

Bruno Freitas, MBA, MSc, PMP

With over two decades of dedicated experience as a Portfolio, Program and Project Management Expert, Bruno brings expertise in leading multi-million-dollar programs, consistently driving benefits realization and goal attainment. His career highlights include establishing project management offices with up to 60 project professionals and overseeing annual project portfolios exceeding $100 million in project initiatives for medium- and large-sized capital markets, banking and insurance institutions.

Bruno takes pride in spearheading portfolios, programs and projects, incorporating industry-leading practices such as PMI, Six Sigma, Agile, and Organizational Change Management. Throughout his career, Bruno has built and nurtured productive relationships with C-Level executives and led cross-functional teams to peak performance, demonstrating my commitment to delivering impactful strategies and achieving organizational success.

He holds an MBA in Finance from the University of Alberta (Canada), Master and Bachelor Degrees in Computer Science from the Federal University of Pernambuco (Brazil), and several certifications in project management (PMP, PMI-ACP, PMI-RMP, PMI-SP), portfolio management (MoP), Agile (CSM), in IT and investment management.
